Current gateway issues

Need to decide on the structure and element names in the XML response to the Z39.50 R ElementSet.

The ISO19115 metadata (and Australian Profile) needs to have more mandatory elements within the onLineSrc element, i.e. when an onLineSrc element is used it must contain linkage and appProfile. The appProfile is currently optional, which means that search and presentation is crippled.
The XSL transformations are attempting to accommodate both old and new style WMS Capabilities XML. This is difficult because there are extreme differences. Seems to be working.
We rely on some implicit syntax within the content of the <appProfile> element, e.g. ogc:WMS-1.1.0-http-get-capabilities This is dangerous. It would be better to have some explicit extra elements in the ISO19115 XML fragment, or make better use of the <function> element, i.e. add ISO codelist entries for GetCapabilities and GetMap.
Ensure that our GetCapabilities and GetMap request are compliant with the WMS Spec and also Guide to Making Your Data Products WMS-Compliant. We think that we are OK, but it is confusing as to what are required parameters in the URL.
Need to fold our code changes into the official Isite distribution. The revised Isearch doctype for "anzmeta" is provided.
When RecordSyntax=HTML, we need to decide whether it is the Z39.50 server job to convert the <linkage>http://...</linkage> URL into an <a href=...>anchor</a> element, or do we leave this up to the client/gateway.
Need more Australian nodes with descriptions of mapping services (e.g. WALIS, AUSLIG, AGSO, BRS, other industry)

Conduct a normal search (the single word water will suffice, and completely empty search terms is OK too)
Behind-the-scenes the gateway will add an extra search parameter to ensure that only metadata records that contain links to WMS services are returned.
